A man from Putnam County claims that two physicians in Charleston performed poorly.
James Eads filed a lawsuit in Kanawha Circuit Court against Dr. Michael Beasley, Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates of Charleston Inc., Dr. Shailendra Singh, and Charleston Gastroenterology Associates PLLC.
Eads was sent to Beasley at Ear, Nose & Throat Associates on January 21, 2020, for treatment because he had a history of recurrent bilateral epistaxis and anemia. According to him, Beasley violated the standard of care by failing to diagnose Eads’ arteriovenous malformation.
Three days later, Eads was sent to Singh at Charleston Gastroenterology for his anemia. He claims Singh violated the standard of care when he cauterized non-bleeding arteriovenous malformations in his colon and caused a hole in the colon’s wall.
According to him, the problems that arose after his two visits to the doctor have permanently harmed him.
Eads asserts that Beasley and Singh did not perform their duties adequately and that the two companies are also at fault.
He desires compensation for his medical expenses, pain and suffering, loss of income, irritation, embarrassment, humiliation, trouble, and diminished ability to enjoy life. In addition, he seeks punitive damages, pre-and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, and court costs.
Eads is represented by Richard D. Linday II and Dr. Richard D. Lindsay of Tabor Lindsay & Associates. Judge Jennifer Bailey will preside over the proceeding.
